In New Harbor after some Big Water

September 29, 2008 by Bethany

I am going to do a quick post 🙂 Well maybe everypost i do is quick. We are in New Harbor. Kyle has gone up into Canada. We thought we might be able to  get around Pemiquid point today, but when we left Round Pound and got out into the ocean, we were met with some pretty large swell. Probably the biggest of the trip but it was manageable because the wind was low. It was imtemedating and we just said “dont look to the right (so we dident have to look at the crazy waves crashing against the rocks).” I would say a good 5 foot swell – like land would vanish every now and then. Sooo we decided to pull into New Harbor, not a hard decision to say the least! The Holladays who we met at a pizza place in Damarascotta (SP)  (I am sure bethany can tell the whole story 🙂 told us that if we could not get around the point that we could stay in New Harbor with them. So that’s how I have the Internet. So tomorrow we should be able to get on the water again and put down some miles! But I am glad to be safe and sound here!
