Happy One Year Anniversary… to the trip

Today is the one year anniversary of our kayak trip. One year ago we put our boats in the very chilly waters of Lubec, Maine, waved goodbye to William and Jamie and we were off!
Its hard to believe but we still arent done yet. Silly us… we thought we would be done by Christmas 2008! Funny how little we knew.
Here’s the journal entry from a year ago:
“today is the day that the Lord has made!
and we’re OFF!!!
We stayed the night at a charming bed and breakfast, the Home Port Inn, in Lubec Maine. After 1400 miles, many many mishaps and adventures, William, Jamie, and Dan and I, arrived here last night around 10:00pm. What a wonderful place to arrive and be able to spend our last night before our “epic adventure.”
We are in a hurry, (of course) to get on the water so i have to make this short. Thank you for all your support thus far. Please continue to pray for us… and our families, as we travel the coast of our awesome country!

I can’t believe it’s been a year since you embarked on this journey. I think everything takes longer than expected, but that’s how life is, I suppose… It is quite a journey you’ve taken, and it’s not everyday you hear of people taking the risk and putting their hearts into making their dreams come true. How amazing and beautiful it has been to follow you on this journey, and I am so proud of you and Dan. It is inspiring to me, and I’m sure you’ve inspired others too. Stay safe, Godspeed, and you are always in my thoughts and prayers. Love you ❤
