Well, you probably already have a new camera, but, if not, allow me to recommend one of the Olympus waterproof cameras the 1030SW (shockproof/waterproof) or the Tough 8000. Both are great cameras, waterproof, shockproof, crush and freezeproof (within reason… no industrial attempts here…). AND, for mine (the 1030 SW earlier version of the Tough series…) I have a FLOATING wrist strap that will float the camera if dropped in the water. I take it surfing quite a bit, and have had to look for it a few times now… 😉 You are making quick progress, may have to stand up paddle with you in Virginia Beach??? 🙂
